Keira may not have won the Oscar for Best Actress, but she was a winner on the red carpet wearing a wine-coloured, off-the-shoulder gown and a priceless Bulgari necklace. Keira was nominated for the her role as Elizabeth Bennett in "Pride and Prejudice" but was pipped to the award by Reece Witherspoon.

Keira can be somewhat consoled with the news that she has become the new face of Chanel after Kate Moss was dropped last year.

Seemingly in a re-write of Pride and Prejudice, recent Oscar nominee Keira is currently dating Rupert Friend (Mr. Wickham from the recent film.) Keira split up with boyfriend Jamie Dornan last year and has been seen with her new crush since December.

Keira is currently filming the third in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, the second installment, "Dead Man's Chest" is on release this summer.

Keira made an appearance at the UK premiere for Pride and Prejudice amongst rumours of a new man in her life (later dismissed) and an appearance by her Ex. Other stars, including Matthew Macfadyen (Mr Darcy) were also in attendance.

The film opens in the UK on the 16th of September

After a somewhat quiet summer, Keira can shortly be seen in Domino on the 14th October, followed by the new version of Pride and Prejudice out on the 18th November. Both currently have trailers available online, you can view the Domino trailer here, and the Pride and Prejudice trailer here

Keira has also been in the headlines recently following her split with long-term boyfriend Jamie Dornan. She is still friends and is currently happy with her single status. Luckily her latest role will give her plenty of practice for the new Jane Austen guide to dating which is currently achieving cult status in New York.

For those UK fans, The Jacket opens here on the 13th May and Adrien Brody has been doing the press rounds as Keira is currently filming the two follow ups to Pirates of the Caribbean.

Domino gets a few mentions in previews of Blockbusters on release over the summer, but whether it can get some time in the sun, in the shadow of films such as Revenge of the Sith and War of the Worlds remains to be seen.

The Jacket has opened to favourable reviews, many focusing on Adrien Brody's role and also Scotland's doubling for Vermont. Keira's performance goes against the plucky heroine part she played in King Arthur and PotC.

Also, some intrepid film buff has posted a few pictures from the set of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 - these show Orlando Bloom and Keira, in an 'interesting' dress. Filming commenced at the end of February and is not due to wrap up until the end of the year.

Keira's been talking around a couple of her forthcoming movies. First up is 'The Jacket' which Keira enjoyed shooting because there was no pressure to look glamorous, she is quoted saying:

I didn't have to look perfect. It's all about finding the truth in any situation and the situation in this wasn't a pretty one

She has also been in the news this week over a 'bum double' who is standing in for her in nude scenes in 'Domino'.

'The Jacket' opens at the start of March and shortly after, Keira will be hooking up with Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp to shoot Pirates of the Caribbean 2 ready for a summer 2006 release

A psychological thriller, its a more challenging role for Keira but never fear, because later in the year she stars in Pride and Prejudice and Domino, both of which should be big films this year. No sooner has one movie passed than another oneis being filmed. Seems Keira just doesn't get a holiday these days, unlike some of us..

Her new project is the film version of Pride and Prejudice in which she plays Elizabeth Bennet from Jane Austen's novel. Filming is currently underway in England and the film is being produced by Working Title

Keira was rated no.1 in New Woman's '50 most beautiful celebs' and can currently be found adorning the magazine cover

Keira has also signed up to appear in 'Domino', a new film by Donnie Darko writer Richard Kelly and directed by Tony Scott. She will play a bounty hunter in what should be a challenging role - filming should kick off in October.

The premiere for King Arthur was held in New York on Monday with Disney laying on the full splendour of knights, swordfights and horses. All the main stars were in attendance but the focus was definately Keira. More photos here

In other news Matthew MacFadyen (who he?) is set to play Mr Darcy to Keira's Elizabeth Bennett in a forthcoming adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Following England's elimination from the Euro 2004 tournament, one newspaper has 63% of fans wanting to replace David Beckham with Keira Knightley as the England captain. And though we may tire of the endless comparisons with Scarlett Johansson, it's no excuse not to vote her ahead in any poll going, this week courtesy of Hello

Hot on the promotional trail, Keira paid another visit to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Keira talked a bit about her new flat, Star Wars and King Arthur. Not a bad performance but _please_ lose the fringe.. talk about bad hair day.

Keira has been named as Britain's 2nd sexiest actress in a UCI poll, just below Kate Beckinsale but above Kate Winslet and Rachel Weisz (the field narrows a bit when you get down to Helena Bonham Carter and Kristen Scott Thomas but no place for Judi Dench)

Keira manages to secure another 2nd for Britain's (second) highest paid actress. She is reported to have been offered eight million dollars to play Elizabeth Bennett in a film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. This time it is Catherine Zeta Jones who pips her to the post, but for how much longer?

In the absence of any film projects ( King Arthur is released in July ) Keira is still managing to make the news on a regular basis

First-off she has been named the young actress most likely to 'break' Hollywood ahead of Scarlett Johansson among others in a poll by Film Review magazine.

Not that you wouldn't think Keira hadn't already cracked Hollywood she has a string of hit movies to her name and already has the LA must-have accessory - a stalker. The nutter ('Hi, if you're reading') has been hanging around her London pad.

Chances are it was a Sun Journalist more than likely the plump girl at the head of the page who is complaining about Keira's weight.

Finally, although Keira only just scraped into the FHM top 100 (you saw the voting panel on the bottom right of this site right?) she finished a proud 18 on the Maxim hot 100.

It's a story that has done the media cycle before but Keira has again been quoted as saying that she 'rarely gets asked out' on dates which seems as likely as a second story circulating that she is 'unhappy with her physique' both sparked off by her Vanity Fair interview.

There is some truth behind the stories, namely that she feels too muscular having worked out for King Arthur - but still, you've got to feel for the girl...

She's also stated she is not ready to move to Hollywood until she is stronger, and doesn't have an assistant because:

"I'm the laziest cow in the world. I wouldn't do anything."

She also reveals that she is moving out of the family home for a posh pad in Chelsea

If further proof of Keira's ascendency within the film world was needed, she features in two magazines this month. First up is a cover role in the latest issue of Vanity Fair (UK).

Secondly, she features in the latest FHM (US) as the number 2 most eligible female behind Paris Hilton. Hardly suprising as Keira has also been nominated the 5th best-dressed woman by Glamour magazine (UK) - but you need to be more than well dressed to get the number one slot

A recent tax-change by the British government has impacted on a number of films, by withdrawing tax relief on film investment. Ordinarliy quite boring but this has directly resulted in Tulip Fever the film Keira was set to star in with Jude Law being closed down.

Gurinder Chadha (director of Bend it like Beckham) is set to direct a new film version of I dream of Jeannie. Keira is tipped for the lead role which will boost her profile in the Sci-fi community. She already features in Sci-Fi magazine's top 25 sexiest women in sci-fi(?) and can be seen adorning the front cover of the current issue. Jessica Simpson is also being linked to the role ( a chance to find out if cheese really is the 'chicken of the moon'?)

Well, several sources seem to think so. Most reported that Keira recently split up with boyfriend (?) Jamie Dornan (Who?) and is now 'inseparable' from 30-year old Adrien Brody with whom she is currently shooting the Jacket up in Scotland. Read more here

Keira has been seen with the oscar winning actor, 11 years her senior, around Scotland including a recent White Stripes gig. Incidentally Jamie Dornan is a 21yr old model - about which very little is known...
